CoCo Tin is an architecture designer and writer based between Hong Kong & Cambridge, MA, synthesizing work at the intersection of theory and art-architecture practice. Awarded the Dean’s Merit Scholarship, CoCo is currently a Masters in Design Candidate at Harvard Graduate School of Design. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a minor in Art History from Cornell University, where her architectural thesis titled No Cure? Caring for Burnout in a Neoliberal Age was awarded the Charles Goodwin Sands Medal for exceptional merit.
Other notable achievements include the 2019-20 KPF Traveling Fellowship Grant, Spring & Fall 2019 Mellon Collaborative Fellow, Addison G. Crowley B.Arch Prize et al. She has previously collaborated with Office for Metropolitan Architecture (Rotterdam) Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (NYC), Food New York (NYC), and Collective (Hong Kong). Her work has been shown at the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale, Architectural Association exhibitions, Museu de Évora, and is currently working on a research publication, The Nature(s) of Sanatoria (working title).
Addressing architecture as social action for the public sphere, heritage and environmental concerns as intersecting with economics are foundational for Tin’s bottom up, interdisciplinary approach.
