“The Natures of Sanatoria”
2021

A small book of critical text and images exploring situated attitudes, access, and the ecology of nine sanatoria environments. Though failing as spatial cures for tuberculosis, the sanatorium, once the most celebrated building type of 20th century Modernism manifesting the relationship between architecture and health, live only as ghosts in the public memory and lack a comprehensive survey. With the invention of antibiotics, even its structures have been neglected and left to decay.
